Achiever
My drive stems from my desire to continuously improve. I strive to achieve my goals and to accomplish all I set out to do. I am detail-oriented, determined, and like to check things off of my "to-do" list. I work hard for the things I am passionate about, and I always seek out ways to continue my own growth, others' growth, as well as the organization in which I work. I enjoy the thrill of a challenge.
Learner
I enjoy the process of learning about myself and the world around me. My favorite quote - "I have no special talents; I am only passionately curious" - demonstrates my desire to soak in as much knowledge as I can to further my development and to help others. I thrive in an environment where I can engage in projects that push me to learn a new skill or subject matter.
Input
In my work and in my personal life, I constantly seek out and collect information. The complexity of humanity and society intrigues me, and I always look for new ways to explain the way people and the world function. Ideas and information are interesting to me, and I find that with a wide array of information, I am able to synthesize ideas and make connections between concepts and theories.
Intellection
My mind runs constantly and I often find myself lost in thought - whether it be about a new idea, my work, my friends, my schedule, or what I'm going to eat for dinner. I like to think, and I'm very reflective - which is also seen in my learning style: "Reflective Observer" (Kolb). I process internally before I express my thoughts to others, and I am a keen observer of the world around me, as it helps inform my beliefs and ideations.
Developer
The Developer strength aids me greatly in my pursuit to build students up and to push them to reach their goals and the potential that I see in them. I am drawn to the students with whom I work as I strive to help them recognize their own talents and strengths and to encourage them to utilize their strengths in their academics, extra-curricular activities, and in their personal lives.

True Colors
My True Colors identity is similar to my MBTI. The qualities highlighted in the Blue True Colors identity highlight the aspects of myself of which I am most excited to contribute to the field: enthusiasm, empathy, a sense of purpose, and idealism.
In my work as a Graduate Assistant for Preston Residential College at UofSC and as a NODA Intern for the University of Delaware, I have had the opportunity to exercise my creativity and imagination while planning programs and retreats for students. In building innovative programs, I hope students are able to learn more about their own skills so that they can use them to serve others and more effectively communicate their talents to others. Each of the qualities listed in the Blue True Colors Identity are those that I value as an individual seeking out a career in student affairs. However, I am excited to work alongside those with different identities and qualities than me so that we can work together to create a place with diverse programs, points of view, and approaches to teaching and learning that benefits students, faculty, and staff of all backgrounds. |
